Crossing Voices is a documentary by Raphaël Grisey and Bouba Touré, with Bouba being one of the main figures as he shares his personal archive. The documentary revolves around Somankidi Coura, an agricultural cooperative established in Mali in 1977 by West African immigrant workers residing in laborer housing in France. Returning to their homeland follows a winding path that takes us through the ecological challenges and conflicts on the African continent from the 1970s to the present day. It documents the struggles of farmers in France and Mali, as well as tracing the personal stories of migrant workers over several decades.
The documentary has gained global recognition and received awards, including Best Documentary at the FCAT Festival 2022.
